Be nice

We just moved here from L.A. county couple of months ago. Where we were, lots of happy, fun, nice, loving, positive people from all ages.
My observation in this new town, Not ALL… but there are lots of mean, bitter, rude, obnoxious human being!!!!! Why not be nice if we’re being polite, respectful, nice, sweet, positive, loving, happy & courteous. I don’t need a negative comment. And I know some remarks will be, why don’t I go back.
I am just sharing for us to be nice to others🥰 Try it, it’s contagious & a happy individual lives longer️, It is science 🧬

I'm so sorry to hear of your experience here in Sun City. I moved here a year ago after having been very involved for over 40 years in the Bay Area where my business and friends are located. I've made some nice friends & we can be friends! Take care.

@Danyelkrae I understand what you are saying!!! I can’t tell you how many people I have smiled and waved at in golf carts going by our home who simply frown and carry on! We have lived here for three years full time, we LOVE our home and have two very dear neighbors (thank God). I guess it takes time and patience to settle into this community. We don’t really socialize much within our gates but have friends all over town. I play Mahjong at the La Quinta senior center which has broadened my ability to get to know people “outside” our gates. I went to one board meeting and felt very unwelcome. I don’t care for the group in power and do hope that this is something that we can change. I for one, welcome you!

I have never been in a place where I have so many friends. I was in a fraternity in college and had about 60 “brothers” there. Here, I have well over 100, or even 150. These are people who I can invite for dinner or go out to dinner with.

If you want to make friends, join a club. There are numerous ones to choose from. Surely one is to your liking.

There are some cranky, unhappy people here but I think they are just scared or lonely. Your smile can make a difference. We have lived here 8 years and I have never met as many wonderful, kind and caring neighbors and friends. So many reach out with food to share, fun times shared and checking on our well being. Stay positive you'll meet some great people soon.

@nanette Thank you for sharing & I do the same thing. And I pick and choose very limited and small group. I've been in business for decades, and we deal with people from all walks of life, attitudes & behavior. I avoid negativity or I deal with it. I will continue for who I am and just being nice.
